fitipower environmental sustainability foundation and national yang ming chiao tung university (nycu) jointly organize the "2023 fitipower ai green technology sustainability innovation competition", which will go to major campuses and inspire students' innovative thinking and cultivate students through the stage of sustainable innovation competition for taiwan's ai talents. a total of five campus teams entered the finals this time, and the final selection event will be held in the nycu electronic information building on the morning of november 30, 2023.
the fitipower ai green technology sustainability innovation competition was held for the first time this year. the preliminary competition included the participation of nycu, ncu, ccu, ntust, ntut, pu and other colleges and universities. in order to let the participating students understand how information technology can be combined with the concept of sustainability to be implemented in the industry, fitipower arranged a seminar before the preliminary round, and invited professor zhou zhihong(周至宏), convener of the department of engineering and technologies to promote the planning of electromechanical energy through industry-university cooperation, to give an esg lecture "a sustainable new future", and arranged for fitipower ai supervisors to meet face-to-face with each participating group discussion.
young lin, chairman of fitipower integrated technology inc. and fitipower environmental sustainability foundation, encouraged the participating teams to make good use of their technical capabilities to develop and implement creative and feasible green technology solutions based on the fitipower's software and hardware platform. he looks forward that through the competition, the seeds of sustainability and environmental friendliness will take root on campus, and from an industrial perspective, we will create a new force with both sustainable thinking and technological innovation.
on the day of the finals (11/30), taiwanese ai experts professor wu bingfei(吳炳飛), professor wang weiyan(王偉彥) and professor zhou zhihong(周至宏), as well as the ai director of fitipower integrated technology inc., were invited to form a judging panel. through different perspectives from industry and academia, the participating teams were given more professional and comprehensive feedback. the jury said that the participating teams' creations were very exciting and diverse, such as ncu's mobility assistance solution, ccu's automatic cleaning solar sun tracking system, etc. the students' creative thinking and technical practice also conformed to the eternal theme of green technology and achieve sustainable development goals and continue to inject vitality into the sustainable innovation of taiwan's industries.
finally, in the fierce competition, the ica lab team composed of nycu's institute of electrical engineering stood out with its "fitipower software and hardware platform combined with a four-axis uav autonomous track foreign object intrusion detection system". the design concept and motivation are based on the traditional manpower used to conduct railway inspections. based on the fitipower's software and hardware platform, four-axis drones are integrated and self-developed algorithms are used to realize autonomous inspection and foreign object detection functions, thereby reducing manpower requirements, improving inspection efficiency, and ultimately the most important thing is to ensure the safety of railway transportation. it was unanimously praised by the judges, won the championship and received a bonus of $200,000 dollars provided by fitipower environmental sustainability foundation.
